Unopened Doors

He was walking his bike along the path when it rose up ahead of him. That house. He stopped to watch it. Strait and tall, the wooden structure raised like royalty, painted white and unblemished. Untouchable even in the wilderness, surrounded by fenced gardens, and undiscribably lost. For what was a house without a purpose, without a person to keep it company.

He always wondered what was behind it. Had the owners lost their fortune? Had they moved on? Did they forget about the white house left behind in the woods? Would he…
