Fade, Fade

It was the end of summer and the warmth we had experienced during the school year was starting to leave us. The unbreakable connection, the eternal friendships, were starting to break apart. Who would remember who? Who would find another? I wanted to escape it and I did. I made myself disappear down the wooded trails thinking that perhaps if they forgot me, then I could pretend that it was nothing more than another day. No. I didn’t expect it to come true. I never had.
